Today (14.09.2015) in the barracks “NH Strasho Pindzur” in Petrovec a ceremony was held marking the day of the Air Defence Battalion Day within the Air Force Brigade.
The ceremony was attended by Air Force Brigade Commander Colonel Kire Koleveski, Air Force Brigade Deputy Commander Lieutenant Colonel Robert Malezanski, representatives of the Air Force Brigade, former Commanders and members of the unit, representatives from the local self-government, Ministry of Interior and other guests.
By decision of the President and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, September 12th is set as the Air Defence Battalion Day, the day the first rocket ground-to-air was fired.
Air Defence Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Trajche Denchevski in his speech emphasized the unit’s importance in the defence of sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Macedonia, and he presented historical facts about the unit formation. In addition, the Commander commended unit members for their selfless efforts and fulfilment of everyday tasks.
A congratulatory note to the battalion members from the ARM Chief of Staff was read before the line, and incentive awards were given for the occasion.
