From 15 to 19 April, at the military barracks ‘Mirche Acev’ in Prilep, at the Artillery Battalion premises and the shooting range ‘Lekovo’ a Forward Observers Basic Training was organized.
During the training, through presentations, discussions and exchange of personal experiences, the NCOs and professional soldiers of the Artillery Battalion, the artillery personnel of the Infantry Battalions from the 1st Infantry Brigade (1stInfBde), and the Intelligence-Reconnaissance Battalion (IRBn) acquired new and upgraded existing knowledge on artillery.
Training was closed with a live-fire exercise with 105mm Howitzer with 20mm inserted barrel at the firing range ‘Lekovo’, attended by the 1stIBde Commander, Brigadier General Sashko Lafchiski.
The Forward Observers Basic Training provided an opportunity for refreshing and gaining new knowledge, and also for overcoming the challenges in the domain of artillery, achieving the goal to train the personnel on their job requirements and tasks as forward observers in the units.
