On 21st May 2014, at the military barracks “Chede Filipovski Dame” in Kichevo, “Open day” for the primary and secondary school students is organized and realized, on the occasion of continuing the tradition and marking the “Day of the former 2nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade”.
On this open day the Western Macedonia Museum’s curator gave a lecture from history on the formation of the “Kichevo-Mavrovo Partisan Detachment”. In his address he pointed out the historical and military importance, the aim and the development of the combat activities. On 21st May 1943 the Head Quarters of the National Liberation Struggle of Macedonia, formed the “Kichevo-Mavrovo Partisan Detachment” from the arrived combatants.
In the course of the day, the 4th Mechanized Infantry Battalion of the 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade also realized tactical technical display (TT-display) of several working points, during which the primary and secondary school students were able to familiarize themselves with the armament and equipment used by the unit.
The students showed great interest in the presented armament and equipment, so they had more questions for the personnel presenting during the TT display.
