Today, 15th of September 2015 (Tuesday) an official military ceremony took place in “Boro Menkov” barracks in Kumanovo on the occasion of duty handover of the Commander of the 1st Mechanized Infantry Battalion (1st MIBn), within the 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade (1st MIBde), and part of the Joint Operations Command (JOC) of ARM. The duty 1st MIBn commander was handed over by Lieutenant Colonel Ali Hajro to Lieutenant Colonel Lulzim Nuredini, who until today was Chief of S-7 in the 1st MIBde.
The ceremony was attended by the JOC Commander Brigadier General Vasko Gjurchinovski, JOC Deputy Commander Brigadier General Pavle Arsoski, JOC Chief of Staff Brigadier General Azim Nuredini, 1MIBde Commander Colonel Zoran Mileski, mayors, representatives of the local self-government and public institutions, and individuals with whom the Army of the Republic of Macedonia has been cooperating.
1st MIBde Commander Colonel Zoran Mileski in his speech highlighted that the 1st MIBn is a unit within the 1st MIBde with the longest tradition which is worthy of respect.
The outgoing commander of the 1st MIBn, Lieutenant Colonel Ali Hajro praised the unit for the given support during his duty as a commander. The newly appointed commander Lieutenant Colonel Lulzim Nuredini thanked the former commander for his commanding and leadership, which he demonstrated by managing the unit and its tasks.
At the end of the ceremony there was a handover of the unit`s flag, which was followed by military defile of the echelons of the subordinate 1st MIBn units.
