On 19.10.2015 in the barracks “Mirche Acev” in Prilep a military ceremony was held marking the handover of the duty Artillery Battalion Commander, between Colonel Zarko Risteski, who has performed this duty until now, and the newly appointed Commander – Lieutenant Colonel Ivica Cvetkovski.
The ceremony was attended by the Commander of the Joint Operations Command Brigadier General Vasko Gjurcinovski, Commander of the First Mechanized Infantry Colonel Zoran Mileski, mayors, representatives of the state administration, local self-government, public institutions and services in the area of responsibility of the unit, as well as legal and natural persons that Macedonian Army cooperates with.
In accordance with the military protocol rule, at the ceremony were read commands for job postings, after which speeches were given by the Commander of the 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade, the Commander in leaving and the newly appointed Commander.
In his speech, Lieutenant Colonel Ivica Cvetkovski underlined that it is his honor and pleasure, but also a great responsibility to stand at the head of the unit in which he began his military career. He added that from the Artillery Battalion members he expects accountability, discipline and, most importantly, teamwork, for successful execution of the mission and tasks assigned.
At the end of the ceremony there was a ceremonial handover of the Artillery Battalion military flag, after which attendees had the opportunity to attend a tactical-technical demonstration of armament and military equipment available to the unit.
