As a result of the successful cooperation of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia with the 4th Security Force Assistance Brigade (4th SFAB) of the United States Army, in the period from 01-06.08.2021 at the invitation of the Commander of 4th SFAB, representatives of the 1st Infantry Brigade of the Operations Command visited Fort Carson Army Base, Colorado, where the brigade command is stationed.
During the visit, the successful cooperation between the two allied armies was emphasized and the needs for it to continue with even stronger intensity in the coming period. According to the planned agenda for the visit, the representatives of 4th SFAB were acquainted with the structure of the 1st Infantry Brigade, as well as with the mission and tasks of the Light Infantry Battalion. Also, during the visit, the teams from 1st Bn from 4th SFAB were presented and introduced, which in the period from October 2021 to April 2022 will be present in the Republic of Macedonia in order to assist the training of the Light Infantry Battalion, in preparation for the NATO assessment in April 2022.
The commander of the 2nd Infantry Battalion briefed the teams on the training plan for the following assessment period and all the details about their stay in the Republic of North Macedonia, while the delegation from the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia presented several variants of the armored vehicles for transport of infantry “STRYKER”.
The result of the visit is the agreed visit of teams from this unit that will be present during the preparation and NATO assessment of the Light Infantry Battalion in April 2022. Additionally, besides these teams, it was discussed about the possible engagement of additional members of the same unit for training and counseling of the Engineer Battalion of the Macedonian Army.
