The personnel of the Combat Service Support Battalion (CSSBn) from the 1st Infantry Brigade (1st IBde) celebrated the day of the unit with a military ceremony at the “Boro Menkov” barracks in Kumanovo today
At the ceremony, a number of officers, non-commissioned officers, and professional soldiers were awarded and commended. As part of the celebration, a blood donation was organized, during which 40 units of blood were donated. The First Independent Platoon from the CSSBn was declared the best platoon in the unit.
In his address, the Commander of the CSSBn, Lieutenant Colonel Shpejtim Cherimi, reflected on the historical significance of the day and the unit’s future duties and responsibilities, as the bearer of the traditions and values inherited from the 1st Infantry Battalion and the logistics battalions.
The Commander of the 1st IBde, Brigadier General Dejan Chiplakovski, greeted the attendees and spoke about the role and importance of the CSSBn as a unit whose logistic support enables the brigade to carry out its daily tasks and responsibilities. He emphasized to the members of the battalion that they should be proud to be part of the Army that enjoys the highest trust among citizens and urged them to continue working diligently and with dedication, together with the rest of the brigade’s personnel, for the good of all of us, the country, its territorial integrity, and sovereignty.
This battalion plays one of the most vital roles in fulfilling NATO obligations, as outlined in the development plan for the Light Infantry Battle Group and the upcoming challenges the unit faces to provide adequate logistic support to all operational units of the Army, including the majority of the garrisons across the country.
The ceremony was attended by a delegation from the Operations Command led by Brigadier General Besnik Emini, a delegation from the Command and Staff of the 1st IBde led by Brigadier General Dejan Chiplakovski, the Commander of the SEEBRIG, Brigadier General Bilbil Bitri, commanders of battalions from the 1st IBde, and other guests.
