On 21 October 2023, members of the platoon, which is part of the Army contingent deployed to the KFOR mission in the Republic of Kosovo, while conducting a training activity at the monastic complex “Visoko Dechani”, in Kosovo, took part in the evacuation of an injured local civilian with a severe injury (left leg fracture).
After reporting the incident to the KFOR Regional Command West a medical emergency team was called to the location. The activity was successful despite the bad condition of the road and the location, which was about 2 kilometers into a mountainous terrain.
The contingent deployed to the KFOR mission was commended for its reaction and efficiency during the activity by high military authorities of the Regional Command-West as well as the Battalion Command of the Italian AF.
The members of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia have yet again, like in previous similar situations, demonstrated their readiness to provide support to the civilian population.
