In the Simulation Center at the Training and Doctrine Command, located at the barracks “Aleksо Demnievski–Bauman” in Veles, a computer-assisted exercise using JCATS (Joint Conflict and Tactical Simulation) was conducted from 10 to 13 November 2025 with the commands and staffs of the 2nd Battalion within the 1st Infantry Brigade and the AF VING/Operations Command.
The purpose of this exercise is to train the procedures and operations of the commands, staffs, and subordinate units in carrying out tasks in accordance with their missions within a simulated environment. The members of the 2nd Infantry Battalion trained offensive and defensive combat operations with combat support provided by the AF VING units (air transport, medical evacuation, aerial reconnaissance, search and rescue, air defense, and airspace surveillance).
The JCATS simulation platform enables practicing all types of combat operations of units on the battlefield in all weather conditions and on any terrain, an unlimited number of times and at minimal cost. In the Simulation Center, commanders and unit leaders have the resources and conditions to assess readiness in order to prepare units for performing missions and tasks prior to deployment to any peace support operations.
