The Chief of the GS of the ARM, Lieutenant General Gorancho Koteski, yesterday and today is a participant in the NATO Military Committee Conference at the level of Chiefs of General Staffs, which is held at the NATO headquarters in Brussels.
At the focus of this meeting of the army leaders of NATO member states and the PfP (Partnership for Peace) is to familiarize the Chiefs of the GSs of the armies taking part in the mission “Resolute support” in Afghanistan with the political conditions and the main priorities of NATO’s new mission in Afghanistan. Main conference topic is reviewing of the ‘Resolute support’ mission realization plans with directions for operation in 2015. At the meeting, it was pointed out that the security situation in Afghanistan is improving and, that time is needed for complete building of the institutions in the country. In favour of this, the strategic reconciliation between the legally elected government of Afghanistan and the Taliban is marked as a key factor.
At the conference, General Koteski pointed out that the ARM remains dedicated to the building of peace and stability in Afghanistan, by taking active part in the ‘Resolute support’ mission, where the ARM participates with more staff officers and other personnel. At the conference, once again the Alliance expressed its gratitude to Republic of Macedonia and the ARM for the 12-year-long participation and contribution in the ISAF mission in Afghanistan.
Besides the conference, General Koteski had more meetings with his colleagues from NATO and the PfP member armies.
