Today in the barracks “Boro Menkov” in Kumanovo, the monthly meeting was followed by a methodical demonstration exercise (MDE) on the following topic: “Neutralization and destruction of a criminal terrorist group” as part of the practical training Special Operations Regiment (SOR) team together with the 1st Mechanized Infantry Battalion servicemen. The event was observed by the Commander of the Joint Operations Command (JOC), Major General Pavle Arsoski, part of the staff at the JOC Command, the Commander of the SFOR Brigadier General Metodi Hadzi-Janev, the key personnel form this unit and the Commander of the 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade (1st MIB), Colonel Dragan Kovachki and the sections commanders of the brigade, as well as the commanders of the subordinate 1st MIB units.
Through the MDE, members of 1st Mechanized Infantry Battalion demonstrated their preparedness in the basic procedures for entering and cleaning the facility and a practical procedure for neutralizing and destroying a criminal terrorist group as part of the lessons they learned from their the colleagues from the SOR.
During the training, the members of the SOR demonstrated their knowledge and skills for close combat in an urban environment, which are performed in urban warfare with a team work. In front of the present officers, members of the 1st Mechanized Infantry Battalion showed the learned techniques, tactics and the manner of movement in urban and rural environment, development of the situational awareness among the members, proper and safe weapon handling when using maneuvering ammunition and developing individual and team work.
