The 13th Army Cross – Country Running Championship was traditionally held, organized by the Army General Staff.
130 Army members, as well as athletes from The Athletic Federation of Macedonia took part in this race, held at sports center “Hipodrom” running track, with a length of 8000 meters for men and 4800 meters for women.
The Chief of the Training and Exercises Section, Colonel Vladimir Stojanovski held a speech at the opening ceremony, emphasizing the importance of sports in the Army, especially athletics, a discipline that shows remarkable results.
The best qualified in the women’s competition was Sergeant Marija Pelikon, Staff Sergeant 1st class Irena Lekoska won the second place, Cadet Blagica Stefanovska won the third place. The best team in women’s competition was the Training and Doctrine Command team, the First Infantry Brigade team won the second place, and the Second Infantry Brigade team won the third place.
In men’s competition, Private Milosh Ranchikj won the first place, Captain Zhan Tosev won the second place and Private Trajche Ilijevski won the third. Team members of the Special Forces Battalion won the first place, the Honor Guard Battalion took the second place, and the Second Infantry Battalion Team came in third.
Upon completion of the competition, the most successful individuals and teams were awarded medals and cups.
