On the occasion of marking the twenty-second anniversary of the tragic death of ten members of the Army near “Karpalak”, the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski and the Minister of Defence Slavjanka Petrovska, paid tribute by laying a wreath of fresh flowers.
Delegations of the Army and the Ministry of Defence also commemorated the event to the fallen members of the Army in front of the complex “Karpalak” in the centre of Prilep, as well as at the memorial in the barracks “Mirche Acev” in Prilep.
In the attack on the Army convoy at Skopje – Tetovo road near the village Grupchin in the area called “Karpalak”, on 8 August 2001, Marko Despotoski, Nane Naumovski, Sasho Kitanoski, Branko Sekuloski, Goran Minoski, Erdovan Shabanoski, Ljube Grujoski, Darko Veljanoski, Pece Sekuloski and Vebi Rushidoski of the Army reserve of Prilep garrison, lost their lives.
