As part of the preparations for the 19th Balkan Chiefs of Defence Conference (BCHOD), the second meeting of the Coordination Group was held in Athens, Greece, from 25 to 27 February, 2024.
During the meeting, representatives of the BCHOD member countries reviewed the tasks arising from the joint statement of the 18th Balkan Chiefs of Defence Conference, as well as the decisions taken at the first Coordination Group meeting. The sub-groups on Asymmetric Threats and on Education, Training and Exercises presented updates on the progress achieved in the implementation of activities agreed upon at the previous meeting.
Furthermore, additional documentation necessary for the successful conduct of the 19th Conference was developed, including draft conclusions of the second Coordination Group meeting.
As with the previous session, participants reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening and promoting regional stability and security in the Balkans through sustained and enhanced military cooperation.
