As part of the program to mark the 5th anniversary of our country’s membership in NATO, today at the “Boris Trajkovski” Sports Center in Skopje, the most successful teams in the sports competitions in futsal and basketball were announced, an event that was organized by the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia and held over the past two days.
In the futsal competitions, the first place was won by the Army team, the second place went to the team of the Ministry of Interior, while the third place was taken by the team of the Faculty of Physical Education, Sports and Health. Novica Kostadinovski was declared the best goal scorer, and Filip Lazarevski was the best goalkeeper.
In basketball, the best team was the Faculty of Physical Education, Sports and Health team, the second place was taken by the members of the Army, and the third place was taken by the team of the Ministry of Interior. The best player was Karlo Blazhevski from the Faculty of Physical Education, Sports and Health team.
In his address to the audience, the Army Chief of the General Staff, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, emphasized the fair play during the matches, and stated that such matches represent an excellent opportunity to strengthen friendships and mutual cooperation between different institutions.
The closing of the sports competitions was also attended by the Minister of Defense Vlado Misajlovski, who presented the awards for the first places won in futsal and basketball.
In the sports competitions marking the five years of our country’s membership in NATO, which were held under the motto “Sport unites, friendship through sport, sport for all”, this year, in addition to teams from the Army and the Ministry of Defense, teams from the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Sports, the South-Eastern Europe Brigade (SEEBRIG) and the Faculty of Physical Education, Sports and Health also participated.
