This year, the 14th Army Cross Country Championship traditionally took place in the sports center “Hipodrom”. The General Stuff of the Army organized the championship of 8000 meters for man and 4800 meters for women.
The representative of the GS of the Army, the Head of the Exercise Department of Section J-7/GS Colonel Igor Arsovski, opened the 14th Army Cross Country Championship and welcomed the competitors. There were many competitors at the sports event including service personnel of the Army, famous national athletes, and other people who like the queen of the sports. Massive number of competitors confirms Macedonian people’s respect and confidence in the Army.
The women team of the General Staff took the first place, the 1st Infantry Brigade women team was the second, and the Electronic Surveillance women team took the third place. Individually, the best cross country athlete was Sergeant Marija Pelikon, the second place was won Staff Sergeant 1st Class Irena Lekoska, and Private Silvana Veljusliev won the third place.
Private Milosh Ranchikj won the first place among the men athletes, Private Trajche Ilijevski was the second place and Captain Zhan Tosev won the third place. The men team of the Logistics base won the first place, Special Forces Battalion men team was the second, and the 1st Infantry Brigade men team won the third place.
Upon completion of the competition the team and individual winners were presented with medals and championship cups.
