On the basis of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, OSCE and the Republic of North Macedonia, organized by the General Staff of the Army, the second phase of the project for upgrading the national capacities for small arms, light weapons and explosives managing (SALWM) was implemented in the period from April 3 to 13.
The training was conducted by a mobile training team, consisting of 3 trainers, from the Armed Forces of the Republic of Austria.
The purpose of the activity was to train the participants in the safe handling of ammunition and mine explosives. The activity was conducted in two phases, a theoretical part and a practical part. The practical part was held in the separate facility Erebino, where the participants were trained in proper management of ammunition and mine explosives through practical exercises.
Representatives from the Army, the Ministry of Interior, the Directorate for Protection and Rescue and the NGO “Organization for Explosives and Weapons” from Skopje participated in the activity.
Certificates were given to the participants on the completion of the training by the Deputy Chief of J-4/GS of the Army, Colonel Kiro Stojanov.
