The Army Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski, who is on a working visit to the United States of America, yesterday visited the Joint Staff of the US Armed Forces, in Pentagon.
In Pentagon, General Gjurchinovski first had a high-level meeting with USA Director of the Army National Guard, Timothy J. Kadavy, followed by meetings with US Chief of Staff of the Army, General Mark A. Milley and the Chief of Staff at the Joint Staff’s Strategic Plans and Policy Directorate, Navy Rear Admiral Cathal O’Connor.
At the meeting, Generals Gjurchinovski and Kadavy discussed the joint activities during the 25-year long cooperation we have with the Vermont National Guard, which according to the results achieved is at the top of the US partnership program for cooperation. General Gjurchinovski expressed his gratitude for the support and help during our integrative processes thus far.
At the meeting between General Gjurchinovski and General Mark Milley, who is nominated for next US Armed Forces Chief of Joint Staff, stress was placed on the importance of the joint exercise activities and training for the reached level of interoperability with NATO procedures.
To confirm the mutual military cooperation, the forthcoming execution of the large joint military exercise ‘Decisive Strike’ was emphasized. During that exercise we will present reaching of the standards in performing the activities as a full-fledged NATO partner.
Adm. O’Connor, in charge of the planning in the Joint Staff, was presented with the transformation and the plans for modernization of our Army until 2028, as well as the pending planned activities as full-fledged NATO member.
The previous military delegation visited the Embassy of Republic of North Macedonia in the USA and had a meeting with the Deputy Ambassador, Marjan Pop Angelov.
In the next few days General Gjurchinovski will have meetings with the Director of Defense Security Cooperation Agency, Lieutenant General Charles Hooper, will also visit Vermont, where he will meet the newly appointed Vermont NG Commander, Colonel Gregory Knight, and on Friday the delegation will attend the Vermont National Guard change of command ceremony.
