Deputy Chief of ARM General Staff LTC General Naser Sejdini is participating today at the ninth Conference of Chiefs of General Staffs of the Balkan countries armies, held in Budva, Montenegro.
The conference in Budva, besides the Chief of Staff of the Montenegro Army, Admiral Dragan Samardzic as the host, will be attended by Chiefs of Staff of the eight countries of the Balkans: Macedonia, Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Serbia, Turkey and Montenegro. Besides the Chiefs of Staff of the armies of the Balkan countries, other guests will be Deputy Chief of Armed Forces (AF) of Slovenia, Deputy Chief of the Armed Forces of Croatia, Deputy Chairperson of NATO Military Committee and Commander of the Joint Command of NATO in Naples.
The Balkan Conference of the Chiefs of Staff is a result of the initiatives and efforts to strengthen cooperation between countries in the region, aimed at promoting peace and stability in the Balkans and beyond.
The focus of this year’s conference is the further strengthening of good neighborly relations and cooperation in the field of defense in regard to the strengthening of security in the Balkans and beyond. At the ninth meeting, the leaders of the armies of the Balkan countries sent a message that this forum is a synonym of mutual understanding and constructive cooperation among armies throughout the region. In this respect, it was concluded that the armies in the region will continue their efforts to develop concrete cooperation projects, particularly in the field of training and exercises, as well as finding new forms and areas of cooperation.
On the sidelines of the conference, it is expected for General Sejdini to hold several bilateral meetings with some of the conference participants and the Commander of the NATO Joint Force Command in Naples.
