In the framework of the planned joint NATO exercise, today at the ATA Krivolak, US Navy aircraft successfully performed flying drills, as part of the “Neptune Strike 22” exercise final activities, conducted in the Mediterranean region in the period from 24th January to 05th February, 2022.
During the exercise two F-18 naval aircraft from the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Harry S Truman successfully performed full coordination with the land forces, while conducting the exercise drills and inspection of the air-to ground missile guidance system.
The same flying drills will be once again repeated tomorrow over the ATA Krivolak.
This is the first time since our full NATO integration and inclusion in the Air Policing system, military aircraft to participates in this type of drills, thus confirming our ability for coordinated engagement in any kind of joint NATO exercises, interoperability and capability to integrate in NATO air defense system.
At the same time, we once again confirm the possibilities of the Krivolak range for conducting air training activities with NATO military aircraft, demonstrating North Macedonia’s critical contributions to maintaining the readiness of the Alliance.
In 2021, the US Air Force “AC-130” aircraft participated in the air drills at the ATA Krivolak, conducted within the exercise “Trojan Footprint 21 “ with special forces from the US and the Republic of North Macedonia Armies.
