On 1st July, 2022 the Italian contingent of peacekeepers ‘LEONTE 31’, including two members of the Macedonian Army, as a seventh rotation in the UNIFIL (UN Interim Force in Lebanon) mission – Sector West, was awarded UN medals of peace.
The UNIFIL’s Head of mission and Force Commander, UNIFIL Commander for Sector West, and high representatives of Lebanese Army, as well as representatives of Lebanese national institutions attended the medal presentation ceremony.
Medals were presented by the Commanders for the commitment in carrying out their duties and the contribution to this peace mission in the southern part of Lebanon.
