In the barracks “Jane Sandanski” in Shtip with the lineup of the 2nd Infantry Battalion, part of the 1st Infantry Brigade within the Operations Command (OC), officially began the training of the declared Army unit, part of NATO forces.
The Commander of the Operations Command, Major General Pavle Arsoski, addressed the audience, greeted them on New Year holidays and stated that as of today the training of the Light Infantry Battalion officially begins. It will be realized in phases starting with the training of an individual and finishing on the level of the whole unit. The successful mastering of the pre-planned contents that will be realized during the year, the overall effort and engagement will be closely monitored, evaluated and depend on each individual of the unit.
The short period of one year, for mastering the contents of the training plan will be a challenge for which the commander of the OC expressed confidence that it will be overcome.
After implementing the formation last year, the unit starts with the preparations for participation in one of the largest international exercises planned on Macedonian soil, the exercise “Decisive Strike 21” as well as the preparations for CREVEL (Combat Readiness Evaluation) NATO assessment in 2022.
