Today, 04.08.2014 in Belgrade, Republic of Serbia, the Chief of Staff of the Joint Operations Command (JOC), Brigadier General Stojan Dimchov, attended the Distinguished Visitors Day on the international command staff exercise – “Viking 14”, organized by the United States and the Kingdom of Sweden in which the ARM is participating as well.
The exercise “Viking 14”, which is the seventh in a row in this series of exercises is performed from March 31st to 10 April 2014 year in several locations in Europe. Apart from the main place of performance in the Kingdom of Sweden it is also performed at allocated places in Serbia, Ireland, Bulgaria and Georgia, and it is attended by 2500 participants from 40 countries and 35 organizations.
This year 9 (nine) members of the ARM participate in the exercise, one of which is an assessor, six are involved in the structure of staff in the Kingdom of Sweden and two members are involved in the established command of the multinational brigade in Serbia.
On the Distinguished Visitors Day, at the training center of the army of the Republic of Serbia, computer simulations performed in real time at all locations of the exercise based on the scenario that is designed to provide joint training and performance of military, police and civilian structures in an unstable environment where peacekeeping operations for stabilization and reconstruction are conducted were demonstrated.
