At today’s ceremony with handing over the unit’s military flag, the duty handover, Commander of the Military Police Battalion, was officially performed.
The duty Commander of the Military Police Battalion (MPBn) was received by Lieutenant Colonel Nexhati Golak, former Commander of the Cadet Training Centre, from Colonel Kire Nikolovski.
The Operations Command Chief of Staff, Brigadier General Mirche Gjorgoski, the outgoing and incoming commanders of the Military Police Battalion delivered speeches to the unit’s formation and the present guests, at the ceremony.
Brigadier General Gjorgoski emphasized that the Operations Command, as the first superior command of the MPBn, is particularly proud that in the past four and a half years, under the leadership of the outgoing commander, the unit has confirmed its capabilities and capacities. Through his selfless contribution during engagement and execution of numerous military-police tasks and training activities, he continuously contributed to the affirmation of the Army. He thanked the outgoing commander for his previous command and achieved results, congratulated the incoming commander on his new duty and wished him a successful command and management of the unit.
In his speech, the outgoing commander of the MPBn, Colonel Kire Nikolovski, emphasized that the members of the unit proudly cherish the traditions of their predecessors. “The sacrifice, professionalism, readiness and knowledge of the unit’s personnel is recognized by all domestic and foreign partners, and for the achieved results we continuously receive a large number of praises and recognitions”, he added in his address. The incoming commander, Lieutenant Colonel Nexhati Golak, emphasized that he is particularly proud of the trust shown by his superiors and that it is a special honor and pleasure for him to command the Military Police Battalion, a unit that has proven itself many times in the performance of its tasks.
In addition to the Operations Command Chief of Staff, Brigadier General Mirche Gjorgoski, the ceremony was attended by the Commander of the 1st Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Sashko Lafchiski, the Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command, Colonel Vasko Kokolanski, representatives from the Ministry of Defense and organizational units at the Army General Staff, former commanders of the MPBn, the Army units commanders and other guests.
