The Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski held a meeting today with the Commandant of the NATO Defense College in Rome, Italy, Lieutenant General Max Nielsen, who together with the attendees of the Senior Course is in a field study in the Republic of North Macedonia.
Among other issues, at the meeting the two generals also commented on the activities we undertake in the process of transformation and full standardization with NATO procedures, documents and doctrines.
They also discussed the activities of this NATO military academic institution, as well as our cooperation with the college and participation of our senior officers in their study programs.
Thereby, the importance of this military academic institution was emphasized. Over the past period our senior officers have upgraded their military education at this institution for their positions in the army structure, and also for other NATO positions and of different multinational organizations.
Previously, General Nielsen, together with officers who attend classes at the Senior Course at the college, visited the General Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, where they met the President of the Assembly, Talat Xhaferi, members of the Commission for Defense and Security, and also representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Internal Affairs.
In the course of the day, General Nielsen will have a meeting with the Minister of Defense Slavjanka Petrovska.
