In the period from 12 January to 6 February, an Officer Command and Leadership Course was conducted at the training ranges in the Veles garrison and at the Training Area “Krivolak” by instructors from the British Military Advisory and Training Team of the United Kingdom Armed Forces (BMATT).
The course was attended by members of the Army assigned to initial command positions. Its aim is to initiate and develop leadership skills for command and management. Participants had the opportunity to become familiar with all forms of basic and advanced squad and platoon level training, as well as with the demonstration and practical application of leadership and the use of troop leading procedures. The instructors shared knowledge and skills related to modern practices in warfare. The training included both classroom instruction and practical field training. It was focused on applied leadership, responsible command, and decision-making in complex time and terrain conditions.
During the certificate award ceremony, the Deputy Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command, Colonel Darko Stojkoski, emphasized in his address that this activity represents proof of the Army’s firm and clear commitment to strengthening interoperability among allies and partners, which requires dedication, training, continuity, and trust. Addressing the course participants, he stressed: “You can be proud of the results you achieved during this course. Believe in your abilities. You have pushed the limits of your physical and mental endurance and showed exceptional motivation.”
In his remarks, the Commander of BMATT, Colonel Paul Morris, expressed his gratitude and satisfaction with the cooperation and the engagement of the Training and Doctrine Command, emphasizing his belief that the transfer of knowledge and skills is a key prerequisite for quality.
