
Mission and Tasks:
The mission of the unit is maintenance of the aircrafts in-between overhauls, servicing the aircraft and supplying AUMS and spare ATMA and TMA.
Aircraft maintenance means periodic check-ups (50 h PP, 100h PP, 200 h PP), replacement of vital parts, repairs and replacement of sub-assemblies, assemblies, engines and aircraft systems. Conservation and storage of the nonoperational aircrafts.
Servicing flight means supplying aviation fuel, lubricants, greases and gases, aircraft ground power, attracting and removing runway surfaces at fault, lighting and navigation of the runway.
Supplying means storage and resupply of aviation lethal means and material, storage and resupply of spare MTMA and TMA.

Aviation Technical Support Squadron was established in 1992 with the foundation of the Air Force and the Air Defence. (AF and AD). The squadron begins to operate actively with the maintaining of the UTVA 66 and 75 aircraft. Work intensity increases with the arrival of Mi-17 helicopters in 1994 and Zlin 242 L aircraft in 1996.
In 2001 after the arrival of helicopters Mi-24 and Su-25 part of the personnel was trained in Ukraine which increased the level of staff training.
The staff is trained in maintenance and servicing of the Mi-8, Mi-17, Mi-17 V5, Mi-171, Mi-24, UX 1X,
Su-25, Zlin 242 L, Zlin 143 L and An-2.
In terms of aircraft maintenance and servicing today, we cooperate with and assist the Ministry of Interior, the Protection and Rescue Directorate and the Pilot Training Centre.
