Mission:
To plan, organize, coordinate and provide logistics support to second level units which are supported by the LS Scheme and overall LS of its own units.
Tasks:
- To plan, organize, coordinate and provide logistics support when it is responsible for:
– Supply;
– Maintenance and repair;
– Movement and transport;
– Infrastructure;
– Services.
- To coordinate and direct LS requests from commands and units which are supported by LBn;
- To reinforce logistics scope of supported units when conducting training, being in the field or in combat and participating in peacekeeping missions;
- To provide logistics support at the military barracks for all units which work and live in the garrisons.
Lieutenant Colonel Igor Ivanov
Lieutenant Colonel Igor Ivanov was born on May 28, 1977 in Shtip, Republic of North Macedonia. After completing his secondary education in the high school “Jane Sandanski” in Shtip, from 1991 to 1995, he continued his military education at the Military Academy “General Mihailo Apostolski” – Skopje from 1995 to 1999, as part of the first generation of officers trained in the country.
He began his military career as a platoon commander at the Logistics Training Center in Gjorche Petrov Barracks in Skopje from 1999 to 2000. In his career so far, he has held several command, staff (level battalion / brigade) and commander duties.
He has completed many courses in logistics, staff officer courses in international environment, assessments of declared units, planning of international exercises and more. Some of the courses are the following:
- Instructors Course, the Czech Republic, 09. – 14.12. 2001;
- Exercise Planning Course, the Republic of Turkey, 29.11. – 10.12. 2004;
- International Staff Officer Orientation Course, the Netherlands, 01.02. – 08.03.2006;
- Operational Planning Process Course, Shtip, 28.05. – 01.06.2007;
- Basic Course on Civil-Military Cooperation, Bled, the Republic of Slovenia 10.2007;
- Public Relations Course for Officers, Skopje, 2007;
- Basic Course for LOGREP, Skopje, 14.-18.09.2009;
- Assessors Course according to Operational Capabilities Concept, Shtip, 19-23 April 2010;
- Logistics Course, Tucon, the Republic of Finland, from 03.-14.12.2012;
- LOGFAS Course, Belgrade the Republic of Serbia, from 03.-07.11.2014;
- Exercise Planning Course, the Republic of Montenegro, from 09.-20.04.2018.
He participated in numerous military exercises in country and abroad, such as the Macedonian Flash series in the process of assessment of the Middle Infantry Battalion, as a company commander and chief of S-4, successfully certified as combatant in 2010 and decorated with the Order of Military Merit by the President of the Republic of Macedonia in 2011. He also participated in Macedonian Flash in the process of evaluating the Middle Infantry Battalion Group, as chief of S-3/7 and chief of S-4, successfully certified as combatant in 2014 and 2017. He participated in the “Decisive Strike” exercise as the leader of the MEL /MIL trade union during the planning process of the exercise and as head of the Exercise Center during the exercise. In 2008 he participated in one rotation in the ISAF mission in Afghanistan as a liaison officer.

He has been awarded and commended numerous times, among the most significant are:
- Commendation by the Minister of Defense in 2019;
- Monetary incentive by CHOD 2010;

- Award Leave by the JOC Commander in 2011;
- Award leave by the Brigade Commander in 2010, 2014, 2015, 2018 and 2019.

1st Logistics Battalion was founded on the 1st of March, 2006. The battalion command is in the military barracks “Jane Sandanski” in garrison in Shtip. It has units in military barracks “Jane Sandanski” in Shtip, “Boro Menkov” in Kumanovo, “Aleksa Demnievski-Bauman” in Veles, and army training area Krivolak. According to the logistics support scheme 1Logistics Bn provides logistics support to JOC units, TDC, 1MIBr and all national and international military exercises which are held at the army training area Krivolak.
Major Cvetko Janevski , currently the rank of colonel, and LSupBr Deputy Commander, was the first 1st Logistics Battalion Commander, from 2006 to 2008. Lieutenant Colonel Vasko Lapevski was 1st Logistics Battalioin Commander from 2008 to 2012. Lieutenant Colonel Branko Srbinovski has been 1st Logistics Battalion Commander since February 2012.
1st LogBn is a support element and with its personnel and supplies and resources have taken part in many exercises in RM (Flash, Lancer, MEDECUR…) as well as aid citizens when there are natural disasters (flood in Radovish in 2008, earthquake in Valandovo area, fire fights).
The servicemen of this unit also participate in peacekeeping missions in B&H, Afghanistan, that is in ISAF and ALTEA, respectively. The unit has been transforming since 2012, and essential changes have been made in separating medical support and ground rescue platoons from the battalion.
