Today in the premises of the General Staff, the Chief of General Staff of ARM, Lieutenant General Metodija Velichkovski, held a meeting with the newly appointed Defence Attaché of Canada to the Republic of Macedonia, Colonel Roland Lavoie.
General Velichkovski congratulated Lavoie on his newly assigned position and wished him a successful realization of his duties as a non-resident Attaché working from Belgrade.
At the meeting, the Chief of General Staff of ARM expressed gratitude for the continuous support of Canada of our strategic commitment to attain NATO membership.
They also pointed out the forms of military cooperation between the two armies until now, especially in the area of training and military education of ARM servicemen, primarily through language courses and seminars.
At the meeting they also talked about the future forms of cooperation, primarily the opportunities offered by the Army Training Area “Krivolak” for pre-deployment training for peace keeping missions, as well as for conducting joint exercises.
