On the “Krivolak” barrack square, the members of the Special Forces Battalion and the Special Forces of the US Army for Europe showed a part of the final activities of the “Trojan Footprint 21” drill in the presence of the Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski and the US Ambassador, H.E. Kate Mary Burns.
During the drill, the members of the Special Forces Battalion and the Special Forces of the US Army for Europe showed the interoperability between the allies while performing special operations on land with the support of military air force. On today’s drill, we had the chance to see the abilities of the AC-130 airplane for the first time, coming from the US military air force.
After the drill activities, General Gjurchinovski and the Ambassador Burns had an opportunity to talk to some of the participants, aiming congratulation messages at them.
The “Trojan Footprint 21” drill is being performed from 4th to 14th of May in the Republic of North Macedonia, Romania, Bulgaria, Montenegro and Georgia and 10 NATO armies and partnership armies participate in some separate activities. The objective of the drill is to improve the abilities of NATO and partnership nations for the performance of Special Forces operations in coordination with the Conventional Forces and it increases the interoperability and mutual relations and trust between the allied armies, which results in increased security in Europe.
The “Trojan Footprint 21” drill is part of the big NATO drill under the leadership of the US Army for Europe – “Defender Europe 21” whose activities are being performed in 16 European countries, and the “Decisive Strike 21” drill that is going to be performed at the “Krivolak” barrack square from 17th of May to 2nd of June is also part of it.
