The Army Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski, officially handed over the duty unit commander, which until now was Colonel Mentor Saiti, to Lieutenant Colonel Nikolcho Jovanov, by handing over the Ranger Battalion flag.
The Chief of General Staff of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski, and the Ranger Battalion outgoing and incoming commanders addressed the lined up members of the unit, at the military ceremony held in the “Ilinden” barracks in Skopje.
In his address, General Gjurchinovski emphasized the importance of this unit for the Army, in which he himself spent part of his military career and participated in its formation. He recalled previous activities and successes accomplished by the unit so far, and the activities planned for the future. In the end he congratulated the outgoing and incoming commanders.
In his speech, the outgoing commander, Colonel Mentor Saiti, emphasized that it is an honor to wear the green beret and thanked the personnel of the unit for their support during his service as commander.
The incoming commander, Lieutenant Colonel Jovanov Nikolcho, expressing his gratitude for the trust given to lead this unit in the following period, stated his belief that he will justify it with maximum effort to lead the unit to even greater successes and professional completion of all assigned tasks.
The ceremony was attended by the deputy commander of the Logistics Base and the commanders of the units stationed in the “Ilinden” barracks.
