Army members always respond to the needs of citizens and institutions. The most precious life fluid must always be available to those in need, especially when the country is in a state of emergency, and it is difficult to organize regular blood donation events.
At the request of the Red Cross in cooperation with the Institute of Transfusiology and the indicated need for conducting special voluntary blood donation events, special blood donation events were realized in the Army on 17.3.2020 in the barracks “Ilinden” and on 19.3.2020 in the barracks “Chede Filiposki-Dame” in Kicevo, in full compliance with the recommendations and measures for protection against the spread of the Corona 19 virus.
64 members of the Kicevo garrison and 107 of the “Ilinden” barracks took part in the blood donation event organized by the Institute of Transfusion Medicine in Skopje in cooperation with the Red Cross.
The teams from the Institute for Transfusion Medicine in Skopje and the Red Cross expressed their gratitude to the members of the Army for helping in conditions when it is difficult to conduct regular blood donation events due to the danger of spreading the virus among the population.
