Military representatives of the NATO HQ in Brussels, the Ministry of Defence and the General Staff of the Army comprise the working group who had their first meeting today, at the Army House in Skopje regarding the NATO accession and integration of the Republic of North Macedonia.
The coordinator of the afore mentioned working group, Deputy Chief of General Staff, Major General Azim Nuredin, addressed the representatives and reported on the concluded legislative decisions and appropriate activities necessary for the integration process, in addition, he emphasized the importance of NATO planning process implementation into subsequent national defence planning. Moreover, he said that joint work of the expert working groups will definitely contribute to achieving the ultimate goal – full NATO membership.
The working group uses the syndicate method in order to review which activities in the appropriate fields have been completed and what other obligations need to be fulfilled by the personnel in charge of certain areas within the National Programme for NATO Membership and the Directive for Military Support of a New NATO Member.
Previously in Brussels, a Ministry of Defence and General Staff delegation took part in the first integrative conference for the Republic of North Macedonia’s accession into NATO, when the national integration plan was aligned with the NATO support plan. In June 2020, by which time our country expects to be a full NATO member, our country will host the second integrative conference for accession.
