The Signal Company establishes all connections scheduled for the needs of the 1st Infantry Brigade under the Signal Plan.
Tasks:
- Alert and unit assembly;
- Tactical march;
- Establishment and maintenance of all scheduled connections;
- Force protection.
Lieutenant Valentino Trajchevski
Lieutenant Valentino Trajchevski was born in 1997 in Shtip. After finishing secondary school “Naum Naumovski-Borche” in Probishtip, he continued his studies at the Military Academy “General Mihailo Apostolski” in Skopje, where in 2019 he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant.
He began his career as a Second Lieutenant at the Petrovec garrison, serving as the commander of the CIS (Communication and Information Systems) Support Platoon. His second assignment was as the commander of the Integrated Communications Platoon within the Signals Company of the 1st Infantry Brigade (1st IBde), where he was appointed on June 27, 2023. On April 28, 2025, he was promoted to Commander of the Signals Company in the 1st IBde.
Throughout his career, he has participated in and completed various courses and exercises.

The signal company is part of the 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade and is located in the barracks “N.H. Strasho Pindzur” – Petrovec. Its beginning was in September 2000 in the barracks “Jane Sandanski” – Shtip where it becomes a part of 1st Infantry Brigade (1st IB) under the motto “Honor and Strength”.
First commander of the brigade was Captain Zoranco Trenev, who after several years with the transformation in 1st infantry brigade into 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade (1st MIB) in March 2006 was replaced by the next company commander Captain Zoran Aleksov.
In June 2012 as the unit commander was appointed the current company commander Captain Dejan Stojcevski.
The unit over the years conducted numerous exercises exist in the domain of signals, some independently and some in coordination and cooperation with other units of the 1st MIB and the command of the brigade.
The company arranged centers for the needs of the command of the brigade in many locations in the eastern part of the territory of the Republic of Macedonia and thus demonstrated its ability to properly, timely and with quality to respond to every complicated task in relation to signals and communications.
Besides everyday functional tasks and obligations arising from the mission of the unit, the members have successfully participated in all military exercises, Macedonian Flash, Balkan Flash and Cooperative Longbow / Lancer at ATA Krivolak as well as at the national and NATO assessments MIB and MICG, where we they achieved solid results in the psycho-physical and combat readiness of personnel in the performance of duties and tasks.
The unit was in charge of one (1) signals platoon within the MIB and MICG. Members have participated and still take part in peacekeeping missions ISAF and OMLT in Afghanistan.
In the OMLT missions we participated four (4) times with one member, 2 (two) rotations with one (1) officer, and the other two (2) rotations with one (1) NCO. In the “ISAF” mission in Afghanistan, from the signal company, thirteen (13) members were present, of which three (3) non-commissioned officers and ten (10) professional soldiers.
Two (2) female members participated in two (2) missions where alongside other members professionally and responsibly performed complex tasks.
In the abovementioned missions for the successful execution, these members have received accolades not only by our superiors commands and units and but also by representatives of the international forces.
Our members have taken an active part in various courses and seminars, both domestically and abroad, for which they have received high commendation. Two (2) officers have completed a course for staff officers and one (1) officer a course for military observers in peacekeeping missions.
Several non-commissioned officers have attended courses of professional -specialist courses such as the frequency management, computers and crypto protection courses. The acquired knowledge and experience are implemented in daily training and work of the unit.
In 2012 the company changes location and is moved to the barracks “N.H. Strasho Pindzur” – Petrovec, which continues performing its assigned mission and the mission essential objectives. Because of the high results achieved in its work, one (1) NCO gained high recognition – bronze badge in 2012.
