Today, at the Military Academy “General Mihailo Apostolski” – Skopje, a military ceremony was held on the occasion of the solemn oath-taking of the 28th class of cadets. The ceremony was attended by: the President and the Commander-in-Chief of the Army, Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, the Minister of Defense, Vlado Misajlovski, the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, the Dean of the Military Academy, Colonel Mitko Bogdanovski, Army generals, Army and Ministry of Defence personnel, guests from the military diplomatic corps, and relatives of the cadets.
“You cadets are the future; you cadets are the valuable potential of the Macedonian Army. Difficult, but also interesting studies await you at a respectable academy. In the past, almost three decades, the Military Academy “Mihailo Apostolski”, has grown into an esteemed institution, recognized regionally, but also abroad. We are obliged to continue working on its development and progress”, said the President and the Commander-in-Chief of the Army, Gordana Siljanovska Davkova.
Minister Misajlovski said that the cadets are starting a new chapter in their lives in the institution that has the greatest trust among citizens. The Minister welcomed the cadets from Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina addressing them as follows: “In the upcoming four years, jointly and dedicatedly master the secrets of the military profession, improve yourself, because you will specialize in an area that is specific, and yet characteristic in terms of standards, expertise, discipline and, most importantly, cooperation. Together in the next four years, you will learn, train and contribute to the development of our cooperation. Today as cadets, and tomorrow as Army officers who care for the safety of their fellow citizens, an example of success, an example of readiness, to flawlessly master the challenges that lie ahead,” emphasized Minister Misajlovski.
At today’s ceremony, the Dean of the Military Academy, Colonel Mitko Bogdanovski, also addressed the audience, saying: “Your oath not only binds you, but also paves the way for you to a life filled with challenges, but also with invaluable opportunities. The military profession is not easy, but it is noble and filled with dignity. This is the path you need to walk to become leaders, not only in the Army, but also leaders of the NATO alliance.”
This year, 33 cadets have enrolled at the Military Academy “General Mihailo Apostolski” as part of the 28th class, of which 25 are from North Macedonia (19 men and 6 women), 5 cadets from Bosnia and Herzegovina and 3 cadets from Montenegro.
