As part of the annual plan of training and promotion of the sport in the Army, organized by the General Staff, the army championship in cross-country running was held for the twelfth time.
Besides the members of the Army, representatives from the “Macedonian Athletic Federation” also participated in the race, which was held at the run track at the “Petrovec” shooting range with length of 8 km for men and 4 km for women.
On this year’s army cross-country competition participated male and female teams from almost any command and unit from the Army which confirms the high level of physical fitness of the members of the Army, and also many of them represent the army on international competitions.
The first place of men’s competition went to the team of the Special Forces Battalion, while in women’s competition the first place went to the team of the Rangers Battalion.
Private Milosh Ranchikj of the Logistic Support Brigade has the best placement in men’s competition, Private Trajche Ilievski from the Training and Doctrine Command won the second place and Captain Zhan Tosev from the Honor Guard Battalion won the third place.
In individual women’s competition, Cadet Sarah Tasevski from the Training and Doctrine Command won the first place, Private Silvana Veljusliev from the Military Police Battalion won the second place and Staff Sergeant First Class Irena Lekoska from the Special Forces Battalion won the third place.
With their participation, the members of the commands and the units of the Army confirm the fact that the sport and the physical fitness are one of the necessary factors for performance of all tasks in their profession but also for promotion of healthy lifestyle.
The best individuals and teams were awarded medals and cups, after the competitions.
