Colonel Toni Naumovski
Colonel Toni Naumovski was born in 1975 in Skopje. After finishing primary school in Skopje, he began his secondary education at the Marshal Tito Air Force High School in Mostar. However, due to the circumstances in 1992 (the disintegration of the SFRY), he continued his studies at the Panche Arsovski High School in Skopje. In 1999, he graduated from the “General Mihajlo Apostolski” Military Academy in Skopje as a second lieutenant, specializing in the signal corps. In 2012, he completed his master’s studies at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, at the Institute for Security, Defense, and Peace. In 2015, he completed his doctoral studies at the same institute.
He began his military career in 1999 as a platoon commander of the Signal Training Center in the Signal Regiment. Throughout his career, he has held various command and staff positions in the Signal Regiment, Signal Battalion, and General Staff of the Army. Since November 2024, he has served as the Chief of the J-6 Section at the Army General Staff.
He has continued his professional development through participation in numerous international activities, including:
- Specialized training and courses in the field of communications and information systems (CIS) at the NATO Communications and Information Systems School (NCISS) in Latina, Italy;
- A Military Observer Course for Peacekeeping Operations in Ankara, Turkey;
- Participation in the CIS series exercise Combined Endeavor in 2001, 2008, and 2012 in Germany;
- A Staff Officer Course in Aldershot, Canada;
- A visit to the U.S. Army Communications and Information Systems Center in Grafenwoehr, Germany;
- Training on the “Implementation of Video Teleconferencing in the Army” project in Munich, Germany;
- A Senior Course on Security and Defense Studies in Tirana, Albania;
- Several seminars and training programs in cyber defense, such as the National Cyber Incident Classification Workshop in Vienna, Austria, and the Cyber Defense Seminar in Wiesbaden, Germany.
Domestically, he has participated in numerous conferences, workshops, seminars, training programs, courses, and exercises in the areas of CIS and cyber defense. He has often coordinated or led the CIS training activities with NATO mobile training teams.
Throughout his career, he has contributed to various working groups and project teams focused on developing, implementing, and upgrading the Army’s global communication and information system. He has also participated in drafting strategic documents related to CIS and cyber defense. He is a member of projects aimed at modernizing and equipping the Army through the U.S. military cooperation program (FMF program). From 2019 to 2023, he served as the national representative for NATO’s Federated Mission Networking (FMN) initiative.
Colonel Naumovski is the author of several papers and publications in the fields of CIS, cybersecurity, and defense. Since 2016, he has been engaged in higher education at the “General Mihajlo Apostolski” Military Academy in Skopje.
He has received numerous commendations and awards from the Minister of Defense, the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, and unit commanders where he has served. He is fluent in English. Colonel Toni Naumovski is married and the father of one child.
